Bob Gill
Reporter interviews motorcycle jumper Bob Gill. The two stand in front of an orange curtain, Gill wears a small clip microphone on his shirt pocket. The first question is, "Bob how does one get started in motorcycle jumping". Gill respond by saying, "You really have to want to do it". He then talks a little about his history of racing bikes before getting into jumping. Reporter, "You started motorcycling what, when you were fourteen". Gill, "Right, I was fourteen years old. I've been riding a bike now half of my life". They talk about Gill's first jump. He talks about jumping without a landing ramp. They go on to talk about the world record that he set in Seattle, he jumped over 22 cars! Reporter compares Gill to the motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel and asks how the styles differ. Gill states that the main difference is that he does his jumps without a catch ramp. He goes on to say that he does his program in a completely different manner. Evel is more concerned with his "hard nosed...nasty..." image, while Gill is concerned about his performance.
