The Nazis gain in strength, and so do the Communists, and street violence often breaks out between the two sides. streets

Master 1 - Tape 1 Automobile (1910s or earlier) comes down main street of Western small town. Backfires. Slapstick. Spectators line the streets. A man stands beside the auto, keeping pace, running along. Looks like a cliche comedy piece, but the turn-of-the-century crowds look authentic. Obviously a shot that introduces the automobile.
