DO NOT USE. This is a pitch/ promo for a prospective TV series starring FRANK CONVERSE. It ultimately aired on CBS for one season in 1967. Opens with a groovy montage of Frank watching (and eventually chasing) a young, pretty brunette frolicing on a tropical beach. She dances, he gazes longingly; she runs, he chases; she disappears into the surf, he wakes up from the dream to find himself an amnesiac in a New York psychiatrist's office (psychiatrist, couch). Franks tries to recollect who he is and who she was while the doc and a police detective watch on. The Rx refuses to release Frank, but Frank leaves anyway, bound for a club bearing the name written in the sand of his dream: Coronet Blue. The club is a swank joint filled with go-go dancers in cages and swinging hipsters new to the mod tip (rapid-fire editing here, nicely done). Upon a blond honey's request Frank attempts to dance, but can't (the amnesia has made his lack of rhythm even worse). He sees a mysterious woman (think Carmen Sandiego) get up and leave. He gives chase. A truck tries to hit him (MS of headlights coming to cam), misses. Daytime, the following day. The blond honey from the Coronet Blue sits in a Mustang convertible conveniently stalled near where Frank happens to be drifting. He fixes her car, but not after a flurry of exchanged glances. When finished he imposes his mystery on her moddish lifestyle and off they go into the stone canyons of New York City (funny, he forgot how to dance yet he remembers how to fix and drive a car). MS of the mystery woman gabbing eagerly into a pay phone, keeping one stiff eye on the two. The youngsters end up in Central Park, standing on an arched bridge to talk and eventually make out (what else?); but Frank suddenly gets cold feet and walks away, saying he doesn't want to hurt her and he knows he will once he regains his memory. Kids with toy guns play nearby, triggering (no pun intended) his sudden change of heart. Night. Frank returns to the psychiatrist's office to reveal what he's gathered about his old personality, and relate his assumed one.
