DO NOT USE Olympics footage. In the summer Olympics in Rome, Germany's Ingrid Kramer sweeps diving honors, but America s swimmers win more gold medals than all other nations together. John Thomas fails to win the high jump, dashing expectations. In the broad jump, Jesse Owens' 26-year old record is bested at last by Ralph Boston. In the hurdles Lee Calhoun butts the tape to take first place. Otis Davis wins the 400 meters despite a lunge a la Lee Calhoun by Carl Kaufman of Germany. Heroine of the Olympics in Wilma Rudolph of Tennessee, the only winner of three gold medals. Don Bragg sets a new record for the pole vault.

In the World Series, the Pittsburgh Pirates cap one of the wildest October classics in the annals of the game with the sensationally exciting seventh game against the New York Yankees. The score seesaws incredibly until they go into the bottom of the tenth all tied up, and Bill Mazeroski hits a fateful home run to bring Pittsburgh victory. Elevated shot of thousands of spectators in the stands - tilts up to press cameras at top of the stands. Good spectator shots inbetween play Low angle CU Yogi Berra ready to bat. Crowds. Double play ball hops freakishly and hits Yankee Tony Kubek in the throat. (professional baseball) Bill Mazeroski scores the winning run and fans rush the field. Mayhem.

Abortions Pape
Reporter Keith Pape stands in an urban park area with a microphone in his hand. He states that over 1,000 legal abortions have been performed in Columbus since Ohio's antiabortion law was declared unconstitutional. He goes on to say that only one clinic is operating in the state, but several more are scheduled to open soon. Exterior panning shot of the abortion clinic. The building looks brand new and unassuming. It is a one level brick building with a carport off the main enterance. A few cars are parted in front. View of the main enterance were the Caduceus Medical Symbol is displayed. Panning shot of the front of the building, carport included. Distant view of the clinic from the road. Keith Pape interviews a Caucasian woman in the comfort of her livingroom. I don't know who decorated this place, but it makes you dizzy just looking at it. (To explain: the walls are papered with grey, black and white stripes varying in width. This is complimented by a black & white checked couch.) Pape and the woman sit on the couch. Woman has her shoes off and feet up on the furniture. Very casual. Shots of the two from different angles. CU of the woman as the audio kicks in. She states that it would be wise for the state department of health to develop guidelines for the abortion procedure, but she really thinks that legislature has no place in dealing with issues of abortion, contraception or sterilization. Pape interviews a woman outside in front of her house. Woman has her back facing the camera to protect her identity. The woman is of a small stature and from the backside can be mistaken for a boy. The audio kicks in and woman states "It's the woman's decision and hers only. I'm glad no one had any say-so in mine". Woman goes on to talk about the woman's right to choose. Reporter asks woman what she would have done with an unwanted child. Woman breaths a deep sigh and states,"Probably not mistreated it, but I wouldn't have given it the motherly love it should have had". She goes on to say "You can't love and take care of something that you really don't want. So why have it".
