The 30th Master Golf Tourney was typical of some superb golf played during the year: Augusta, Georgia Jack Nicklaus putts his ball and just misses the golf hole. Arnold Palmer putts the golf ball for a 20 ft birdie and he is 12-strokes under par. Palmer is congratulated by his agent and they walk over to get the trophy and prize money. Throngs milling around on the golf course. The traditional Green Masters Jacket is put on Arnold Palmer and he is wearing a big, big smile on his face.
The Indianapolis 500 saw death at the wheel right from the start. Two drivers were killed and others badly injured in a seven-car pile-up on the second lap. Indianapolis, Indiana Thirty three cars started in this race and as the cars come into the straight away Dave MacDonald looses control of his car and spins into the wall, when he hit the car explodes. Other cars get involved altogether 7. You see one of the cars coming out of the fire and smoke and the car itself is on fire, all of a sudden it explodes Latter on that day, MacDonald dies in the hospital. Ronnie Duman scrambles over the in-field wall, badly burned but alive. The track is cleared and the race is on. Race cars on the track, AJ Foyt crosses the line and is declared the winner of the race. AJ Foyt pulls off the track into the pit area, exhausted.
