Moves on past Hyatt and other hotels, Tribune Tower, Wrigley Building (stopping again, and the hatchback of the minivan from which we have been shooting closes.)

(Master 28 part 2.) Great video-original footage of the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo in Charleston, South Carolina. Taken from car driving through streets, lined with nice-looking homes. Trees down, boats in the middle of the road, etc. Cleanup, disaster, weather, storm, wind. At 07:42:11, very large boat (the "Mary Margaret") lying on the side of the road. At 08:16:28, boats (wrecked) on land near harbor. At 21:21:14, men working to restore phone lines (on ground). Small rural business district at 22:06:26. At 23:33;15, CU of sign in store window: "Closed until storm passes". At 23:47:01, shots of downed trees in wooded area and power-company workers working on lines. State troopers at 20:03:15. Boat ("Saunie II", a large modern cabin cruiser) washed ashore at 27:33:06, followed by other boats ashore. At 28:31:24, great shot of large sailboat lying in the middle of a stret, with traffic passing by, followeed by another boat lying on the side of the road. More on the next card.

Starting out with shots taken from car driving through residential area (houses close together, nice neighborhood). Yellow house with "HUGO" painted on the boards over its front window 32:37:16. Overturned railcar/trucks 32:46:28. Wrecked boats in and around harbor 33:10:24. Smashed metal building framework 33:47:17 (rain on lens). More boats at 34:34:06. CU of life preserver ("RICHARD CHARLENE/PHILA. PA.") on boat 35:40:27. Sequence in neigborhood where homes are completely destroyed starts at 36:19:10. CU stereo lying amid wrecked house 39:13:26. Three red pickup trucks (starting with CU of licence plate) and a car in the water on a rocky shore 39:32:24. CU answering machine and phone lying in the mud that pulls back to reveal the car and trucks 29:56:07. CU "No Parking" sign, pulls back to reveal truck in water up to its headlights 40:10:23. Shots of county police.
Lockport FD Drill
(Master 28 part 2.) Video-original footage of fire set by the Lockport fire department and put out by them as practice. Older brick house, obviously abandoned. Starts out with shots of equipment, etc. Firemen in full regalia. Cloudy summer/spring day. Lots of cutting away at the roof with chainsaws. Men go in roof through holes they cut. Fireman talking to camera 53:48:08, about the practice/training fire. Aforementioned fireman lectures younger men on use of hoses and equipment 56:37:21. Ladders, equipment, etc. No actual fire (no flames) here. This footage ends Master #28, Part 2.
More of the Lockport Fire
More footage of the fire set by the Lockport Fire Department, for practice/training. This footage starts off Master #28 Part 3, and is where the actual fire starts. Lots of flames, much of this could pass for a real house fire. Flames, firemen in full regalia, etc. Some shots have a barn visible in the background. Bizarre shot at 13:53:20, with firemen posing, as for a photo, in front of the house, which is burning out of control. Funny. Then they disappear and the house continues burning. The house is allowed to completely burn to the ground; by the end of the footage the walls have collapsed and there is very little left of the structure. Only then do the firemen move in. Frankly I think they do this for fun more than anything else; they really don't do much to put out the fire. Never mind.
Chicago's O'Hare - Takeoffs & Landings
On Master 28 Pt. 3! Video-original footage of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Mostly shot with a telephoto lens, watching planes taxi and take off. Sunset/dusk. Planes landing against setting sun/misty sky. The planes taxiing have prominent airline logos; the ones taking off are less recognizable.
Train Hits Car
Staged collision between train and car, video-original footage. Two locomotives make a test run down the track and then smash into the car (early 70s brown Oldsmobile that has to be pushed onto the track; it has yellow-and-black stickers all over it). Train hits car and pushes it down the track; gravel flies everywhere.
