Promotional film sponsored by General Motors for their Green Pennant Safety Program, which gets kids involved in patrols to help their peers across the street safely. Mother and boy walk to school, like he's new. They see other kids walking in and notice a green pennant flying from the flagpole, right below Old Glory. Long sequences with principal explaining to the woman how it works; the kids learn safety patrol techniques. Examples of behavior NOT to do around the street: riding two on a bicycle, running for a ball without looking, etc. School assembly with presentation of safety award to the school. Large crowd of children in safety patrol boats sings a song about safety. Clock on wall of classroom reads 9:30; dissolve to 3:15, and the school bell is ringing.
