MSs entertainer VAN JOHNSON -- wearing loud multi-patterned suit jacket with fat blue tie-- being interviewed. CU male African-American TV reporter. C/A Van Johnson playing with eyeglasses on sheet of paper on table. Van Johnson: "I roll over about 6 o' clock in my bed and I think, Oh, they're all getting into their makeup at Universal, going to do MacMillian and Wife, which I just finished, but I just gear myself for that 8:30 curtain here every night." Reporter asks for his opinion on the Casa Manana Theater. Van Johnson: "It's just fabulous & quite beautiful. I appeared for Billy Rose years ago-- before you were born-- on the beaches of Sacramento. He brought Casa to New York and bought the old French casino, and a lot of thw wonderful showgirls were from Texas. Beautiful girls like Stuttering Sam, Mary Dowell, and Butch Bigby. I kept hearing about Casa Manana in Ft. Worth, then I was disillusioned yesterday when they said that this was not the original, that it was torn down.
