Paul Duke and Cokie Roberts discussion of Reagan s chances of continuing success in getting programs passed. Reagan might have a harder time after November elections, especially since Republicans have been forced to propose the largest tax increase in peacetime history to help cut the largest deficit in US history. Democrats have been able to force Republicans "to vote for rich people and against little old ladies". The unity in Reagan s rhetorical agenda is helpful, although his policies have nothing to do with his rhetoric about reducing spending.
