Great low angle travelling shot along the ice as the kids slip and fall. CU of a little boy crying, shying the camera and teacher away. Ultra low angle MS of young females in leotards leapfrogging over the camera (kinky shot). Travelling MS of a learned little girl ice skating. Spinning LS's (camera placed in center of practice rink), skaters on ice. Low angle MS of the learned little girl (in pink dress) doing advanced spins and pirouettes as her coach watches on. 01:24:25:- B&W archival of adult figure skating couple. Cut to color, present day: MS's and CU's of children in a classroom. MS of boy doing sit-ups. More travelling MS's (LS's?) of young boys and girls on practice rink. Mre B&W archival footage of figure skaters, 1920's. Ct back to modern, yet STILL in B&W: young male and female skaters practice on rink, many fall and mess up axles and such. 01:27:13:- Color: MS of a young girl in costume (part jester, part clown, part Renaissance actor) running through a routine (apparently an Olympic hopeful). Cut to travelling MS's of an older figure skating couple (in their late teens or so) running through a routine, followed by B&W footage of them rehearsing in a ballet room. Cut to color CU's of them at the rink again, watching slo-mo playback of their routine on a TV; CU of man with video camera, shooting routine. More skating ensues (you were expecting something else?). 01:32:21:- Montage of kids at summer camp: running through an aerobics exercise; figure skating; swimming in a pond (great cinematography of the kids on dock); dry rehearsing; running through routine on ice, in costume, etc. 01:35:55:- CU of photo album, stills of NIKOLAI PADYEV (sp), early 20th century Russian champion figure skater. Color MS of him and female partner sitting on a park bench. B&W archival newsreel of figure skaters, guest appearance by Nikolai, 1940's. Cut to modern, color footage of figure skating couple performing. Ends with cute MS of a boy helping a girl onto the practice rink, the two gingerly making their way onto the ice.
