SILVIO CONTE (R-MA) in well of House, sings a version of "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" implying that REPUBLICANS are going to beat the DEMOCRATS. TIP O'NEILL interrupts to say that singing is against House rules, CONTE continues to speak the rhyme. O'NEILL butts in again to joke that he made a bad ruling, because "you couldn't call that singing". General laughter. C/S of CONTE and other Republicans watching the Republicans practice for the game. CONTE, the GOP team manager, calls the performance "pathetic". Shot of a Congressman pitching with a stiff windup. CONTE v.o.-the practices make him feel like crying. CONTE chastises a Congressman. C/S Rep. A Democrat says "recruiting" consists of a circular sent out for all those dumb enough to come out to play. Another young Democrat Congressman says the Dems look sharp. C/S CHAPPELL, says that Congressmen don't like to look foolish. C/S CONTE, predicts that lousy pitching will make it a wild game. 09.32.11-M/S MARTY RUSSO (D-IL), CONTE, and CHAPPELL standing for national anthem wearing uniforms of their local pro teams.
