ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 991926 An assorted collection of television commercials from the 1970's, in the following order... 1) AMC CONCORD BL- CU of a young blond woman, daddy's little girl, raising her sunglasses at the sight of aforementioned automobile. She wants the car. MS's of her inspecting it, telling the driver she has to have it. Daddy buys the car from him. Closing LS of the car on deck of daddy's yacht. 2) AMC CONCORD DL - MS's of a marine sergeant and a corporal in dress fatigues, about to go on leave. The latter drives the Concord, while the Sgt gets jealous about it all. MS of the men inspecting the plush interior. 3) AMC CONCORD DL - Set at a mock awards ceremony. Great MS's of a hammy yet elegantly dressed man and woman opening the envelope, announcing the winner... it's the Concord! MS of the audience clapping excitedly, followed by LS of the car on a float being brought in. 4) TOYOTA COROLLA - Set in a bank. A man is approved for a car loan. Delighted, he says he needs to find a car worth the money. Voila, an utterably ugly yellow car magically appears in the bank's lobby. Everyone rushes over to check it out. MS of the man throwing his hat into the car through an open hatchback. MS of the man sitting in the driver's seat, waving a girl into the car. LS of them driving off. 5) ESMARK INDUSTRIES - MS's of man, woman and child planting in a field on a summery late afternoon. MS of a gas station attendant cleaning a car's front windshield. Product shots of Swift Bacon and Peter Pan Peanut Butter. Product shot of Playtex wares. 6) Same material as last, only quicker and with different editing. 7) DANNON YOGURT - Mostly product shots against a black BG. 8) TONE BEAUTY SOAP - MS of a sweaty woman in tennis whites walking off an outdoor court to talk to the camera. CU's of her swabbing herself down in the shower. CU of her parting the clear shower curtain, waxing sexy to the cam. 9) OIL OF OLAY - mostly product shots, some good CU's of a model applying the creme rinse. 10) MCDONALD'S - we have an all-time winner here, folks... of what I have no idea. This downright weird ad needs to be seen to be believed. And seen again to make sure you just saw what you think you just saw. Opens with high angle LS's of several young, uniformed McDonald's employees singing and dancing in a mountian meadow a la The Sound of Music. Mind you, they're not there to investigate a new location, they're there to be happy and gay and spread that loveable McDonald's spirit. LS's of them singing and dancing in a field of cows (oh, the cows must absolutely LOVE that). HIgh angle tight LS of them doing the same in a billowing grain field... why not sing and dance in the polyurethane container factory? McDLT anyone? MS of a spriteful female employee dancing up to a family of three (mom, dad, lil MIkey) enjoying a meal on a McDonald's patio; CU of kid biting into burger, immediately saying that it's terrific (how would he know when he spits half of it out trying to say his line).
