05:41:18:- MS's of Mrs. Pham, Hai and Hip's mother, taking dirty pots and pans from a mattress-less bed in a deep blue room of their home (Hai and Hip just finished breakfast). MS of Hip helping his mother out. MS's and CU's of Hip and Ray (a congenial yet burly member of the video crew, sporting a crazy Appalacian beard) singing and playing an acoustic guitar inside Hip's home. Wide MS of Ray, Hip, Larry, Mrs, Pham and several others singing (terribly) some American folk song, the name of which escapes me like tunefulness eludes them. You gotta have heart, I guess. 05:46:46:- MS's of Mrs. Pham in a unique orange and white dress, sitting on the deck of her home and talking to her son Hai, a medical intern at Central Hospital in Hue; Hai goes into the house, gets his bike, leaves. MS's of Mrs. Pham watering her plants.
