Peace Parley opens and an envoy address the United Nations: "Members of the conference we must try to understand one another even when we cannot agree with one another. We must never accept any disagreement as final. We must work together until we can find solutions. Which while not perfect are solutions which can be defended. ...large or small can be insensitive to world opinion. The world longing for peace will not forgive us if in striving for perfection we fail to obtain peace. The United States believes that those who fought the war should make the peace".
