Tongue-in-cheek footage of safari, mostly shot day-for-night. Stereotypes - white safari adventurers; blacknatives in face paint with spears and shields.( Includes clappers, could pass for production of jungle movie).
Pink/Red parrott in tree. Tile down to safari guy (in straw hat and tattered khakis), walking through brush. Same guy walks and is abruptly stopped by two other safari guys with guns, in pith helmets and '50s hollywood safari costumes. Then a close up two-shot version of the previous scene, long conversation. Wider shot, same, ends with the three men walking off into the jungle.
MS jungle path at night, the two safari guys flank another guy who appears to be their prisoner, they are followed by porters. CU safari guy digs through brush and pulls out shiny gold things. CU prisoner sits on ground, weak, they give him water. Long conversation. The three men on their feet - look ready to go - but they're still talking. Film flutters in gate - falls out of focus here and there.
Safari guy with prisoner talk to each other on the ground. Cuts to wider shot with the straw hat guy no in frame and part of the conversation. Looks intense, he gets up and walks away. Camera zooms in to the other two who continue talking. Safari guys gets up. MS of him with gun. He calls for his friend over his shoulder. Friend shows up and they both stand, talking with guns ready. Friend wakes porters who stand up and look a little confused.
Daytime, all three safari guys in jeep drive off. 'Natives' (stereotypical with face paint, spears and shields) move through jungle. Group of safari people - including the token girl - stand in jungle talking - one of the safari guys approaches them - talks and laughs. They all have a good laugh. Lone safari guy in dark jungle struggles with some kind of trap. MS he walks towards camera with a baby primate (chimp?) in one hand and fires his shotgun with the other. walks past camera.
MCU young safari guy talks, facing camera, as if he is addressing a group in front of him. He tries to look intense and serious but looks more melodramatic and silly. Brief shot of gorup in jeep - cuts, more slates. Group of 'natives' with spears and shields running through jungle. More slates. Lone safari guy still struggles with trap - looks like small animal is caught in it.
Tilt up to dark jungle set from pov inside cave/pit. Tilt down to the group of safari people with token girl. One of the men helps the girl - she stumbles. all are dirty and a bit roughed up - they have apparently fallen into this pit. The group looks up and around, they talk - the girl hugs the man who's holding her up. One man steps out of formation - grabs another by the shoulders and yells at him - camera zooms in. The blocking and camera angles and movement are all very stiff and contrived.
daylight, black safari guy in jungle. Finds something on the ground, picks it up, looks curious, shakes it and walks on. CU same action. MS dark room - bamboo structure, lthere is a caged lion. Same guy walks in (back to camera) still shking this thing he picked up in the jungle. Approaches cage, looks around suspiciously.
CU small wood campfire, coffee pot nearby. Tile up to two men and a woma (in khakis of course) sitting and talking, tent in b/g. They hear somehting and all look up startled. Zoom out - black safari guy aproaches them and talks to them. They suddenly seem very concerned. Camera zooms in - they stand up close together in intense discussion.
