"A musical animation of a visit to a cold northern town by a guest from across the sea, who finds that it is so cold even words and music form snowflake patters of their own. The guest takes the songs from the town as souvenirs for his homeland, but a wind buffets the ship, scattering the songs in the snowflakes all over the world. Although he is sad at their loss, the guest realizes that now people around the world will know of the friendship and generosity of the people whose songs they are. A story of the role of culture in promoting international friendship."

The villagers bestow utmost kindness upon the guest, feeding him well. The man rushes out, collects the villagers' songs (which have been frozen), then departs with his booty. The man sails for home, passing through wicked storms. When the storm passes, his booty has melted but the songs travel across the seas.
