Introduction to Porter Wagoner show #114. Program opens with Wagoner and Wagonmasters Mack Magaha, Buck Trent, Speck Rhodes, Don Warden, and George McCormick as well as Norma Jean onscreen singing "Howdy Neighbor Howdy" in front of a barnyard set painted a glowing lime green. Over brightly colored title card decorated with drawing of Wagoner, announcer Don Howser introduces "And now, in color, it's The Porter Wagoner Show, starring Porter Wagoner and The Wagonmasters, with Speck Rhodes and Norma Jean, and special guest star Tommy Collins, bringing you your favorite songs and stars of the Grand Ole Opry!" Howser enters and shakes hands with Porter, saying "Here's a man outstanding in his field - in fact that's where we found him, out standing in his field." Wearing a dazzling rhinestone-studded red Nudie suit, Porter welcomes audience, then plays guitar and sings "Dooley," the b-side to 1965's single "Green Green Grass Of Home." Porter is backed as always by The Wagonmasters, who wear equally flashy bright orange western outfits that make them look like radioactive carrots. MS of Buck and Mack (and Speck) as they trade hot licks on banjo and fiddle, cracking Porter up in the process.

Porter welcomes the audience, then introduces a boy from Bakersfield CA who's "brown as a berry from riding the prairie, and sings with an old western drawl," Tommy Collins. Backed by The Wagonmasters and wearing a dark green lame' and silver rhinestone Nudie suit of his own, Collins plays guitar and sings "If You Can't Bite Don't Growl" from his 1966 LP "The Dynamic Tommy Collins." MS Buck's guitar solo. Porter introduces commercial.

Playing us out of the commercial break, Buck shows of his electric banjo by leading the Wagonmasters in an instrumental rendition of "Grandfather's Clock."

Porter introduces Pretty Miss Norma Jean, who plays guitar and sings the title track of her 1966 LP "Please Don't Hurt Me," backed by The Wagonmasters. MS of Don's pedal steel solo.

Porter thanks the audience for tuning in every week, and tells everyone that they can write to the show in care of the station they're watching. Then backed by The Wagonmasters, Porter plays guitar and sings a song he describes as one of his favorites, "Bride's Bouquet," from his 1965 LP "The Thin Man From West Plains."

Porter introduces fiddler Mack Magaha and asks him to introduce the next performer, but not say anything too good, so Mack introduces "the man with the checkerboard suit, right?", Speck Rhodes. Using an old-timey crank-style wall telephone, gap-toothed comedian Rhodes places a call to fictional operator/ girlfriend Sadie. Speck tells a bunch of corny, old fashioned jokes. Afterwards, Speck plugs the show's fifth souvenir booklet, containing songs and stories and pictures. It can be yours for only fifty cents by mail. Colorful graphic of an envelope addressed to Porter.

Porter introduces one of the show's "more requested hymns," "Family Bible," then plays guitar and sings a short version of the number accompanied by The Wagonmasters.

Porter reintroduces Tommy Collins and they chat for a moment about Porter wishing they could've played "Birmingham," but Tommy says they didn't have time to rehearse it. Porter asks how life is in California, and Oklahoma native Collins makes a joke about his adopted home of Bakersfield being the capitol of Oklahoma. Backed by The Wagonmasters, Collins plays guitar and sings "Shindig In The Barn" from his 1966 LP "The Dynamic Tommy Collins." CU Mack's fiddle.

After the song Porter returns and says he'd like to record that song someday, then Tommy says how much he likes Porter's recitations. Norma Jean returns to play guitar and sing "Watch Where You're Going" from her 1966 LP "Please Don't Hurt Me," backed by The Wagonmasters.

In wrapping up the show, Porter explains that the phrase he and Tommy were tossing around earlier, "ain't we having a good time," came from a comment somebody made when there were six guys stuffed in a car once on tour. Then the show winds up as the Wagonmasters play instrumental show outro and Howser signs off, Wagoner waves goodbye as Magaha fiddles and Speck and George dance around Speck's bass fiddle.
