Introduction to Porter Wagoner Show #2. Via voice over, T. Tommy Cutrer announces sponsors over title cards illustrated with product artwork: Black-Draught laxative "that leaves you feeling fresh and clean inside," Soltice Quick-Rub cold relief, and Hi-Therm pain reliever. Over title card, Cutrer introduces Porter Wagoner and the Wagonmasters, regulars Speck Rhodes and Norma Jean, and their special guest star Roy Drusky. Wagoner and Wagonmasters Don Warden and Little Jack Little sing Black-Draught jingle.
At end of jingle T. Tommy Cutrer comes on screen and greets Wagoner, who wears classic Nudie Cohen jacket with rhinestone highlights. Wagoner plays guitar and sings "The Crawdad Song;" Norma Jean, Don Warden, Speck Rhodes, and Cutrer all take turns at mic.
Wagoner welcomes audience and solicits cards and letters to find out who they want to see and hear, then suggests that an equally helpful idea for the show would be for everyone to choose Black-Draught laxative. Cutrer pitches Black-Draught in front of logo, followed by close-ups of Black-Draught powder, syrup, and candy-coated tablets. Segment ends with Wagoner and Wagonmasters reprising jingle, with lively fiddle coda by Wagonmaster Jack Little.
Wagoner introduces Roy Drusky, and they talk briefly about Drusky's previous appearance on the show about a year before. Drusky introduces a new song, "Doubtful," which he sings and plays on guitar backed by The Wagonmasters. Wagoner returns and jokes that T. Tommy didn't like Drusky as he was too handsome and too thin.
Wagoner introduces Norma Jean, joking that she dressed up extra pretty for Drusky. Norma Jean sings and plays guitar on the Rose Maddox tune "I Want To Live Again," backed by The Wagonmasters. MS Buck Trent on guitar.
Wagoner returns and once again pitches "thoroughly dependable and dependably thorough" Black-Draught.
Wagoner dedicates the next song to Cutrer, joking that Cutrer won't mind Wagoner as much as Drusky as he's not as good looking. Wagoner sings and plays guitar on "Cold Dark Waters" backed by The Wagonmasters. MS Buck Trent on guitar.
Gap-toothed Speck Rhodes comes on wearing his trademark checkered suit with polka-dotted bow tie and bowler hat, joking that he had a nightmare where he was stranded on a desert island with 300 women. Wagoner asks why that would be a problem and Rhodes says that in the dream he was a woman too. Rhodes jokes that while he's out of town everyone should call his girlfriend by the name "Well Enough," and that they should leave Well Enough alone.
Backed by The Wagonmasters, Speck Rhodes sings novelty song "Sleeping At The Foot Of The Bed." MS Buck Trent, WS of Speck dancing.
Cutrer pitches cold remedy Soltice Quick-Rub, that works like an old-fashioned poultice but without all the mess. "It's pure, white, and nice to use." Wagoner adds that it's great for children too. Shots of product.
Wagoner sings and plays guitar on the sacred song of the day, "Rank Strangers," accompanied by the Wagonmasters. MS Buck Trent.
Wagoner tells the audience they can write to the show care of their local stations. Drusky returns and talks of his new Decca album "It's My Way." Drusky sings and plays guitar on his hit "I Went Out Of My Way."
Wagoner returns and pitches super-strength Soltice Hi-Therm. CU of tube of Hi-Therm. Rhodes returns and Wagoner tells him how much it'll help his rheumatism. Rhodes tells joke about why it takes women so long to dress: "they have to slow down for all those curves."
Wagoner announces that it's banjo-pickin' time, and Wagonmaster Buck Trent solos on a short version of the instrumental tune "Home Sweet Home."
Wagoner and the Wagonmasters return to say goodnight and play a Soltice jingle. End of show voice over reprises show's sponsors. Short commercial for Cardui Tablets for women.
