In the Japanese Parliament a drastic left wing attempt to block the new Japanese / American mutual security pact. Over 100 leftist legislators camp in the corridors to keep the other representatives from convening. The speaker of the house has been barricaded in his office. Then the police move in over to each socialist. The demonstrators lock arms and its a start of a 30-minute melee. Japan's Socialist Party and Neutralists as well as the Communist violently oppose the new tenure treaty with the United States. On the eve of Ike's planned visits riots and outburst have ominously frequent. Here in the halls of the Parliament their swinging away hammer and thongs. These packets are not new in Japan's unruly Parliament, they frequently succeeded but today police gradually carried the battle and fought on to free the Speaker of the House, Akero kee Osee. The speaker takes a terrific beating as government forces carry him into the house despite a last minute frenzy stand by the opposition On a rainy day protesters sit outside Japanese Parliament building, holding umbrellas. MCUS - Leftist legislators sitting down in the halls of Parliament being served rice rolls. CUS - Older legislator fanning himself. MCUS - Plates of dried fruit and wontons being passed around. CUS - Man drinking water. MS - Japanese police going up the stairs. MCUS - Demonstrators locking arms and police trying to pull them apart. CUS - A melee, fighting breaks out. Pushing, pulling, kicking, slapping and everything else that goes with fighting breaks out. CUS - Police carrying this one man away. Somebody rips the hat off of the policeman head. CUS - Older Japanese man with gray hair and a bloody nose, is punching and hitting a police man. MCUS - A sea of men undulating with their bodies full of anger. CUS - The back sides of men pushing other men. MS - The Speaker of the House (older man) is ushered out of his office and into the house where a beaten disheveled man pleads with his cohorts.
