But when we come in & conquer nature & go: you know, we are going to put concrete right here, & we are going to put a dam here. Well, that has a huge impact." Aerials of Glen Canyon Dam, Colorado River, Lake Powell reservoir. Biologist LARRY STEVENS says "This is a backwater, which is a nursery habitat for young fish. It is a habitat that forms in association w/ sandbars such as we see along the mainstream river. It's an environment that warms substantially above the river so it's an environment that provides good warm water habitat for the warm water needed fish."

LS powerboat sailing on Colorado River. Biologist LARRY STEVENS says "We have about 3 or 4 pairs of peregrine falcons, which are an endangered raptor that lives in this section of the canyon. There's one that nests right in this area here. They feed on the water fowl that live in the river system here. I might be able to try to call one up here.
