There has always been a problem w/ freshwater supply in that area. I remember my childhood when I, as a young boy, used to walk a distance of 1 1/2 km to fetch some freshwater & bring it home. We also used to collect rainwater to do our laundry. In other words, shortage of freshwater has always been a pressing problem over there."
