To Quench Our Infinite Thirst
Water sustains like on our planet and in North America, the demand for green grass cool building, swimming pools, cars, power plants, & factories consumes hundreds of thousands of gallons of water. What began as simple ditches to transfer small amounts of water of water has turned into enormous dams and water system in the world has been left without a chain of dams and manmade controls. Today, billions of dollars are spent to move millions upon millions of gallons of water - for drinking, for industry, for irrigation. At present, irrigation consumes 60% of the water taken from North American streams, as agriculture becomes agribusiness. This film examines the various ways now used to divert water, and how new techniques will affect our dams and reservoirs. Water is now flowing where it has never gone before in a system that will soon augment and eventually surpass the earth s natural rivers.
