Arnold Schwarzenegger at debate says "The politicians keep making a mistake, they keep spending and spending, and spending and then when they realize that they made a mistake and they've spent money they don't even have, then they go out and they go tax, tax, tax." David Broder leads the discussion on the Republican side of the debate for Govenor of California.
President George W. Bush speaking at the United Nations "Our actions in Afghanistan and Iraq were supported by many governments and America's grateful to each one. I also recognize that some of the sovereign nations of this assembly disagreed with our actions, yet there was and there remains unity among us on the fundamental principals and objectives of the United Nations." French President Jacques Chirac counters President Bush at the United Nations (spoken by a translator) "United Nations has just weathered one of its most serious trials in its history, respect for the charter, the use of force were at the heart of the debate. The war which was started without the authorization of the Security Council has shaken the multi-natural system." Michael Duffy details the difficulties President Bush is facing abroad and at home with regards to the ongoing wars, the money needed to rebuild, and the troops needed to maintain a presence there. Barbara Slavin discusses the perspectives from the French side of the arguement with regards to the war in Iraq.
