Their first attempt at blast off is scrubbed when a malfunctioning plug drops out & shuts down the engines. They sit tight in their space craft & pray for the best. Their courage is rewarded as Gemini 6 rides out the crisis undamaged. Then, three days later, comes one of the most beautiful take-offs in the Cape's 15 year history as Gemini VI rises to the heavens & the historic meeting. Complicated maneuvering brings the two capsules together & they chase each other around the globe for 4 hours. This is the rendezvous so essential to a manned shot to the moon. 26 hours after take-off, Gemini 6 is returned to earth & lands within 12 miles of the Carrier Wasp, the closest landing to a recovery ship ever made."
