The famed Benedictine Monastery of Monte Cassino was reduced to a shambles by the Allies when the Germans used it as a post to block the Allied advance to Rome. It was an order given with reluctance but now, 20 years later, the Abbey has been restored to what it was when first constructed in the Sixth Century. Twenty years later the building was restored showing off the beauty of the building and how St. Benedict built the building and how it once looked.
