It's a dark and rueful number sung from the point of view of the alternate-universe Dolly who *didn't* become a mega-star. Dolly is backed by The Wagonmasters and wears an understated late-60s red/white/blue dress that seems more suited to 4th of July on a yacht than late April in Nashville.

Well, he got the first part right anyway. Wearing his trademark checkered suit and bowler hat, Speck calls his fictional girlfriend Sadie on an old-fashioned wall-mounted crank style telephone and corny old-fashioned jokes ensue.
