MS - Nikita Khrushchev with Prime Minister 'Gromyko on his right side and Marshal Malinovsky left side (he's wearing a Russian military uniform) Khrushchev has a smile on his face (but not for long) clapping his hands like a seal. MCUS - Khrushchev speaking his hand clenched in a fist, shaking his finger. MCUS - As Khrushchev speaks in Russian his voice becomes louder and louder, he is really mad, angry and enraged.

Henry Cabot Lodge answer to Gromyko, "It can never be accepted that the Soviet Union can maintain a double standard where they have thousand of spies and subversive edges everywhere. By protesting one single harmless observation flight. The free world would surely be in great and peculiar danger".

In the Japanese Parliament a drastic left wing attempt to block the new Japanese / American mutual security pact. Over 100 leftist legislators camp in the corridors to keep the other representatives from convening. The speaker of the house has been barricaded in his office. The speaker takes a terrific beating as government forces carry him into the house despite a last minute frenzy stand by the opposition On a rainy day protesters sit outside Japanese Parliament building, holding umbrellas. Pushing, pulling, kicking, slapping and everything else that goes with fighting breaks out. CUS - Police carrying this one man away. Somebody rips the hat off of the policeman head. CUS - Older Japanese man with gray hair and a bloody nose, is punching and hitting a police man. MCUS - A sea of men undulating with their bodies full of anger. CUS - The back sides of men pushing other men. MS - The Speaker of the House (older man) is ushered out of his office and into the house where a beaten disheveled man pleads with his cohorts.
Missile Launch The Atlas Intercontinental
At Cape Canaveral the 51st launching of an Atlas Intercontinental originally scheduled for the eve of the ill faded Summit Conference delayed for technical reasons. The Atlas fares better than the Conference. Its a perfect launching. Carrying a half ton pay-load of research instruments the Atlas shown in these Defense Department Film, soars down range a full 9-thousand stature miles. Its target a point in the southern reaches in the Indian Ocean. The longest surface to surface rocket ever achieved. The Atlas Rocket sitting on the launching pad. Damaged Aircraft
An amazing escape from a mid-air catastrophe. Safely landed at Paris despite a collision with a light plane at 2,000-feet . The French Carrabelle Jet Transport clearly shows effect of the terrific impact. The crash completely destroyed the light plane whose pilot was killed as was one passenger on the jet. The Carrabelle landed with the training plane engine embedded in its fuselage and 25-badly shaken survivors. All injured but report ably non seriously. A miraculous landing after a close brush with terror. A French Transport sitting on the tarmac showing an extensively gapping hole in the roof of the fuselage. Sentry Satellite: 5,000 Pound Missile Spotter In Orbit
America's new Sentry satellite ready for launching at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Adjustments are made on the Atlas carrier and its pay-load the 5000-pound experimental Minus. This missile defense alarm system will circle the earth some 300 miles out. Its heavy weight instrument package waiting to detect the heat trails of missile engines. The launching of the Minus corresponds with the United Nations debate over the U-2 spy plane incident. The Sentry Satellite boasters Ike's "Open Sky Proposal" to these world's tensions. President Eisenhower talking and explaining the picture, "Here I want to show you a picture. This is a photograph of the North Island Naval Air Base in San Diego, California. It was taken from an altitude of more than 70,000 - thousand ft. But the white lines in the parking strips around the field are clearly defendable, from 15 miles up. 13 miles up. Those lines are just 6-inches wide obviously - most of the detail necessary for a military evaluation of the air field and the air craft are clearly distinguishable. I show you this photograph as an example of what could be accomplished by the United Nations aerial surveillance."
