Master 2 - Tape 2 Assorted edited sequences of newsreel and military footage giving an overview of circumstances and events contributing to the rise of Fascism in the late 1930s. Not great but some good shots of political personalities (Hitler, Roosevelt, Chamberlain) and lots of assembled troops and equipment ready for action. At the end - some nice shots of press and newsreel photographers, radio broadcasters. Good for war coverage, journalism.

Gives the Nazi salute, others salute back. Little child in the crowd, CU, saluting Hitler. Laughing faces. Goose-stepping soldiers with their arms raised stiff in salute walk toward the camera. Chin straps. Hitler stands over them, saluting them all back. Cut to FDR meeting with foreign leaders at the White House, with Eleanor and an unidentified admiral. (Japanese?). More marching soldiers, possibly Japanese, going through formation/marching exercises. Wave swords. Overhead wide shot, nazis with banners pass thorugh what may be the Brandenburg gate. Parade led by flag with swastikas.

Japanese students or youth give fascist salute. WS President Roosevelt (FDR) at a podium delivering a speech, lots of people in chairs behind him.

Cut to MS of a Chinese Nationalist soldier executing a supposed Communist in Shanghai, 1949-- man is shot in the back of the head at point blank range, other executed men in street beside him; MS National soldiers hauling away a suspected Communist; MSs refugees fleeing city as Communist forces advance, 1949. Men in costume perform a traditional dance, dragon parade.
