Lockhart (if this is indeed him, and not an actor) working at a temporary aircraft warning station (note the CENSORED blackout over the monitor and some of the equipment he s manning); the Private observes a large squadron of planes headed to Oahu, calls up HQ to confirm; HQ dismisses it, says they re expecting B-17s from the mainland; tilt U to clock on wall, 7:20 AM.

TLS explosion at Hickam Field. Great shot fighters flying low over airfield, explosions and burning rows of American planes. LS explosions at Wheeler Field, rows of parked fighters; nice shot Jap fighters flying over smoldering airfield, American sailor firing Tommy gun at them; MSs American pilot clamoring to fighter, being cut down by Jap gunfire; MS sailor firing Tommy gun into sky; great LSs Jap fighters flying low, guns blazing.

LS base at Kaneohe, fighters dropping bombs; LS/MSs mass service, sailors turning towards attack (chaplain tells the men to "man their battle stations, God bless"). TLSs Jap fighter flying over smoke, dropping bombs, firing bullets; LS hangar exploding. MSs US sailors lining up for machine gun bandoliers, firing guns at attacking planes, some falling dead to the tarmac, others ducking bullets, removing bombs and machine guns from incapacitated planes.

Vice-President of Metromedia News, John Corporon: "During the weeklong Democratic National Convention, several violent clashes occurred between the Chicago Police... Many of the demonstrators argue that the police used excessive force in keeping demonstrators off the streets and out of hotels in the convention hall. Mayor Daley of Chicago says his police did what they had to do to keep a mob from destroying the national convention and to protect innocent persons. Mayor Daley also accused the three major networks of providing distorted coverage. The networks refused the Mayor's request for primetime in which to present what he believes to be Chicago's side of the story regarding the use of police force. Following the network turndown, Metromedia Television offered the Mayor an opportunity to present and official Chicago point of view. In presenting the hour-long program which was produced by the city of Chicago, Metromedia neither accepts nor rejects the official Chicago version of what really happened. However, we do believe that the public has a right to hear Chicago's point of view. At a later time, if warranted, Metromedia Television will provide an opportunity for the other side to present its version of events which occurred in Chicago during the week of August 26th."

Nice MS of surfer boys riding the waves. Various shots, mostly MS and MCUs or young boys on their surf boards. . Board gets tossed out of the water, bounces on the waves. Mild wipeout. Followed by a series of mild crashes and wipe outs. Then more shots of various surfers on the waves.

Master 3 - Tape 1 Nice color MS and WS of cowboys and/or ranchers riding on rocky terrain and on wide open plains. Overhead WS of gorge. This could easilybe remote Wyoming. Montana, or Colorado etc. - big open country and big blue sky. All the guys are wearing cowboy hats. Film is slightly overexposed, a bit scratchy.

A long procession with mounted police, various military branches represented (army, navy, marine corps, West Point and U.S. Naval Academy cadets). starts with the funeral procession leaving the Milburn house on Delaware avenue, Buffalo, N.Y., headed by the mounted police of Buffalo, followed by Companies I and F, of the 14th U.S. Infantry, under personal command of Major General John R. Brooke. Following them come a company of the 73d Coast Artillery, which was then on duty at the Pan-American Exposition. The National Guard of the State of New York, consisting of picked companies from the 74th and 65th Regiments, were also in line. These march to the music of the 14th United States Infantry Band. The Military Escort was followed by the Naval Contingent given below. Fifty sailors from the United States Gunboat Michigan, under command of Lieut. Minix. After them come the blue jackets with open throat shirts loose black neck scarfs and sailor knots, with leggings and jackey hats.

McKinley's funeral procession continues with the new President Theodore Roosevelt and other dignitaries riding in carriages (incl. U.S. Senator Mark Hanna, Senator Chauncey Depew, President Milburn, of the Pan-American Exposition, and Secretary Cortelyou,). Next comes the hearse drawn by four black horses and escorted by sixteen sailors and marines from the U.S. Gunboat Michigan. President McKinley's hearse is followed by many carriages containing officials and mourners. The coffin is carried up steps into a building. Pan on square; crowd waiting in line. also shown with the press and military tents in BG. People coming out of a bulding and walking down steps; over the doorway is a large picture of President McKinley.

Glass-sided hearse drawn by 6 black horses in which one can see the coffin of President McKinley. Following hearse are the Admirals of the Navy and the Generals of the Army. After this come two closed carriages, containing the president's immediate family. and then the carriage of President Roosevelt, which is drawn by four black horses. Next come the carriages which contain the President's Cabinet, the Diplomatic Corps, Chief Justice Fuller and Associate Justices, Senators, Congressman, Governors of States and Government Officials. Then the United States Marine Band in slow solemn march, followed by National Guard of the District of Columbia and sailors from United States Battleships
