1957 Chevy Ads
Ad for 1957 Chevy with Positraction, a 4-wheel drive type feature. Opens with Chevrolet logo. MCU quarter-covered white wall tire rolling. MCU tire stuck in mud. MCU tire zipping through less-shallow mud. MCU tire cutting through even-shallower mud, pan left to 57' Chevy with license plate "1 USA" pulling onto paved road. TLS 57 Chevy on country road. MS spokesman watching film in darkened room, turning off projector, turning on lights. MS/CUs spokesman using model of chassis to show how Positraction works.
Car Commercials - 1975 AMC Matador
Ad for the "roomy mid-sized" 1975 AMC Matador, an absolutely gorgeous relic of a car: two middle-age Caucasian men talk outside front entrance of a country club; one of them, Wally, sits in a parked red-orange Matador while the other, wearing atrocious golf clothes, chews his ear; Wally's family gets out, enters establishment.

Car Commercials - 1975 Pontiac Models
Several ads in series of futuristic spy spoofs for Pontiac-- Pontiac Strikes Again!--, one agent a man, the other a woman, both wearing black bodysuits and determined to thwart the aggressions of bald baddies: (1) Opens in a Q-like lighting studio in which scientists in white lab coats wander about the 1975 Pontiac models, Firebird emblem on wall in BG; Q-lite stops our "heroes" from rushing off, gives them a lesson in making sure grenades and handguns are removed from cars before they're used for noble purposes; nice shot of our heroes sitting in car, saying, "Nobody's perfect!" (2) Our heroes, one of whom has a silver briefcase handcuffed to her wrist, zip along country roads in a Pontiac Grand Prix while avoiding bombs and such from vaguely foreign bad guys flying in helicopter. (3) Female hero leaps through window with silver briefcase, escapes in Pontiac Ventura as bad guys give chase; heroes elude capture by making car ferry just in time.
Car Commercials - 1975 Cutlass GMO
Ad for 1975 Cutlass GMO: MS several Caucasian and token African-American man waiting at bus stop on cold morning; MS Cutlass GMO stopping at a stop light, where it is revealed the driver is some type of "Planet of the Apes" man-ape (same makeup and expressions); MSs folks checking out & admiring the white vinyl landau roof & opera windows & pinstripe while completely ignoring the driver; CU old white man saying, "Far out!"; CUs insignia, racing wheels & ape driver; graphic says it gets 20 mpg highway miles as though it were a good thing; MS white cop with Chee-kagah accent telling the driver to move the fancy car.

Two ads for Cadillac: (1) quick still montage of the evolution of the Cadillac automobile; a veritable history lesson in the various models of the Caddy; TLSs blue Cadillac outside ritzy home. (2) 1975 Caddy Seville: product shots of Caddy Seville in lighting studio; exteriors & interiors; graphic says it gets 21 mpg highway & 15 mpg city as though it were a good thing.

A collection of ads for Saab: (1) Saab Wagonback sedan: product shots of car rotating in white lighting studio; hatchback opens, luggage magically stacks itself. (2) TLSs Saab on test rack, coming to complete emergency stop as gate closes; CU feet in gray Adidas sneakers stomping on brake pedal. (3) TLS Saab on test track, driving over obstacle and having tire blowout, coming to safe complete stop.

Ad for AMC Pacer: TLS yellow Pacer X driven by balding middle-aged white man stopping on country road to ask two local bumpkins in blue jean jackets for directions; the hicks decide to follow the weird little yellow car in their red convertible; TLSs Pacer driving through suburbs and rural road; TLS cars stopped at railroad crossing as freight train passes; MS driver of Pacer, wearing plaid suit jacket, announcing to salesman at dealership, "Here they come!" referring to the string of cars following him.

Cut to creepy marionette of Alka-Seltzer package using Alka-Seltzer; walking by One-A-Day vitamin box; holding Tabacin cold medicine & Bactine boxes. Claymation of freaky Alka-Seltzer marionette introducing the Quiz Kids & Joe Kelly. (2) MOS. This and other Easter items were used as film inserts on Quiz Kids live network TV show. Great but equally strange MS young Caucasian male walking to camera with old still camera, taking picture, flashbulb snapping. A filmed insert for a live show. An illustrious example of how primitive and consequently revolutionary early TV really was. Really strange, laugh-out loud material; we're talking light years beyond "intense art student" strangeness & poignancy.
