Harvey Party
Harvey Party Universal movie studio hosted a party with Jimmy Stewart and Harvey, where Jimmy plays a lovable tippler "Elwood P. Dowd" who pals around with a six and three-quarter foot tall invisible rabbit named Harvey. And he's a pooka, in old Celtic mythology a fairy spirt in animal form. Some of the movie stars bring their children to visit Harvey, Donald O'Connor and his family and other stars and their families. The children seem to be enjoying themselves. The last family to visit the Harvey is Gayle Storm and her family.

Canadian Navy Group Visits US Canadian Navy group visits our docks and battle ships. Large battleships and destroyers coming into New York s port. One large air craft carrier coming to dock. A small crowd of people mostly women waving their hankies at the ship coming in to dock. A naval officer and a civilian shaking hands. The women are waving expressing joy as their men leave ship coming down the docking plank. Hugs and kisses is the call for the day.

Red Efforts Fail To Halt U.S Shipments Communist efforts at preventing the discharging of American arms to France are thwarted as the aircraft carrier Dixmude delivers 44 fighter planes in bizerte, North Africa, and heavy guns are unloaded under heavy guard at Cherbourg, France. A fighter plane lifted by a crane and lowered on to the deck of a navel destroyer. Dignitaries stand and watch as another plane is lowered on to the destroyer deck. Some kind of compound enclosed by barred wire. A canon being lowered on to the deck of the destroyer. Camera pans to show a line of canons.

Diving Champs Olympic form is displayed by leading American women divers off the three-meter board. When the spray clears away Mary Frances Cunningham swims away with the national title. The first lady diver attempting to perform airborne acrobatics before entering the water gracefully. The second diver starting position is from the high dive making sure she's away from the platform an she does some kind of backward tuck holding her knees. The third diver does her dive - backwards in a straight position entering the water head first with her legs together feet pointed entering the water making a very little splash which indicates a very good dive. Maple Heights Teacher Strike
A teacher's strike is occurring at the Maple Heights High School. Segment begins with a police car rolling down the street. A group of students are congregating on the sidewalk. From the loud speaker of the patrol car, comes a message telling the students to leave the area. View of a car full of teens in the school parking lot. An adult male stands by the driver's side door than walks away. View of the Maple Height High School sign. Camera pans to the right to reveal students loitering on campus. School has been canceled for the day, but they still linger. View of a large group of students in front of the school. Some have stopped to talk, other walk around. View of students in support of the teachers. One girl holds a sign that reads "TEACHERS ON STRIKE". They seem a little camera shy and turn their heads away. Reporter interviews a female student. Several teens surround her as she speaks. Girl states, "I don't care if we suffer. I think it's just for the good of the teachers. I think that they have a right to do what they're doing. I believe that they are justified, absolutely justified". View of student and adult with "TEACHERS ON STRIKE" signs. View of student activity outside of the school. They all seem to have that "school's out for summer, school's out forever" attitude. CU interview with Caucasian male staff member. He states, "We believe that the program that we have in Maple Heights is a good program, it is a basic program, that just can't afford to be cut". Interview with a second Caucasian man. He is older than the first and a member of the school's administrative staff. He states that the administration wishes to fulfill the demands of the teachers, but they can't. He goes on to say that the school has a limited amount of funds to work with. View of reporter Bob Frankin with microphone in hand, standing on school grounds. His final commentary states that both sides of the issue agree that the final goal is a quality education for the students of Maple Heights.
